Program of the activities from 30^th April to 3^rd May 2012

Milan, Italy

First day:                                                            Walking around the lake

30^th April

9.30 a.m.                             Meeting in front of the Hotel Catalani and Madrid and departure for Lecco Lake

10.30 a.m.                          Arrival and tour of the lake on foot

12.30 p.m.                          Lunch break (packed lunch or restaurant)

2.00 p.m.                            Visit to Val Camonica (trekking activity)

4.00 p.m.                            Departure to Milan

7.00 p.m.                            Dinner (free)

Second day:                                                      An Irish monastery in Italy

1^st May

9.00 a.m.                             Meeting in front of the Hotel Catalani and Madrid

10.30 a.m.                           Visit to Bobbio’s monastery and the two museums ( S. Colombano Abbey and the City Museum both with guide)

12.00 p.m.                          Lunch break in a typical Italian restaurant

1.30 p.m.                             Departure to Pavia

2.30 p.m.                             Visit to the Certosa of Pavia (guided tour)

4.00 p.m.                             Departure to Chiaravalle and visit to Chiaravalle Abbey (guided tour)

6.00 p.m.                             Departure to Milan

7.00 p.m.                             Dinner (free)

Third day                                                           Dealing with Leonardo

2^nd May

9.00 a.m.                             Meeting at school and welcome

9.30 a.m.                             Workshop about Leonardo da Vinci (with teachers and students)

11.30 a.m.                           Visit to the Museum of Science and Technology (Leonardo’s section)

The participants will be divided into two groups: 1^st group from 11.30 to 12.30 and the second group from 12.30 to 1.30. In the meanwhile the group that’s not visiting the museum will visit the Church of S. Ambrogio Patron of Milan close to the museum

2.00 p.m.                             Lunch break (bar or restaurant)

3.30 p.m.                             Visit to Leonardo’s “The Last Supper”

                                               The participants will be divided into two groups: 1^st group from 3.30 to 3.45 and the 2^nd group from 3.45 to 4.00.

4.15 p.m.                             Visit to the Church of S. M. delle Grazie (next to the museum)

5.00 p.m.                             Visit to The Navigli (a canal system built by Leonardo)

7.30 p.m.                             Dinner or Happy Hour at the Navigli

Fourth day                                         Our school and Milan

3^rd May

9.00 a.m.                             Meeting at school and presentation of our school, “Ankara Visit” , “Milan” and “Italy”

10.00 a.m.                           Tour of the school only for students

                                               Teachers are meeting together to talk about the next Comenius visits

10.30 a.m.                           Activities in the laboratories for students (fashion, graphic and photo labs)

                                               The students will be divided into three groups according to age and interests

12.00 p.m.                          Lunch at the Professional High School for Hotel and Restaurant Services with farewell party

3.00 p.m.                             Visit to the City centre (Duomo, P.zza alla Scala, Castello Sforzesco, Galleria V. Emanuele)

5.00 p.m.                             Shopping time in the city center

7.30 p.m.                             Dinner at school and live concert

9.00 p.m.                             Dancing time with our students
